Message from the President

By Michael Geist, 03/12/20, 1:15PM EDT

Cyclones Nation:

Today Kent State University announced that they have decided to cancel all events scheduled for campus locations through April 12 to avoid creating large gatherings as a result of the impact of the Coronavirus in a effort to prevent the spread.  Details may be found here:

This announcement brings with it the temporary closure of the ice rink.  All Cyclones activities at the rink will be postponed until further notice.  We will update you as soon as we have more information to share.

We will continue to work with KSU rink management, and have also began discussions with other local area ice rinks to determine the best course of action in alignment with the CDC, the WHO, and other city, state, and local agencies before rescheduling future Cyclones events.

In addition, USA Hockey's latest guidance may be found here:  Please take the time to discuss these important hygiene measures with your family.

This weekend's schedule included the celebration of the the 44th gathering with our friends from Embro.  They have just left a board meeting and have decided to postpone the event until next year.

Please take the added time away from the rink to spend some extra quality time with your family.  We will update everyone as we have more information to share.  In the meantime, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Brandon Grote, Kent Cyclones President
