Youth Fall/Winter
The Tri-County Cyclones (formerly the Kent Cyclones) are charter members of the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL), and the North Coast High School Hockey League (NCHSHL). Our youth teams participate in the preseason and regular season activities through CSHL. Our goal is that each team play in two tournaments in addition to our preseason/regular season games.
Our teams over the last three years have averaged over 60 practices per year.
If your player is looking for a more recreational, non-travel environment, or does not place on a travel team, they may be offered a spot on our in-house roster for the fall/winter.

Tryouts
Begin the week of April 6, 2026, and are based on USA Hockey birth years:
8U, 2018-2022:
Wednesday 4/8 at 6:00pm,
Thursday 4/9 at 6:00pm, and
Saturday 4/11 at 2:00pm
10U, 2016-2017:
Tuesday 4/7 at 6:00pm,
Wednesday 4/8 at 7:10pm, and
Saturday at 3:10pm
12U, 2014-2015:
Tuesday 4/7 at 7:10pm,
Thursday 4/9 at 7:10pm, and
Saturday 4/11 at 4:20pm
14U, 2012-2013:
Tuesday 4/7 at 8:20pm,
Thursday 4/9 at 8:20pm, and
Saturday 4/11 at 5:30pm
High School:
Friday 4/10 at 7:10pm and
Saturday 4/11 at 6:40pm
Goalies: 10U/12U/14U - attend all sessions for your age group above and Friday 4/10 at 6pm
Regular Season
Regular season practices begin on mid-August and teams will regularly practice twice a week in the evenings.
Preseason Games begin Mid-September, 2026 (less beginner 8U, no preseason)
Regular Season goes from November to February (less beginner 8U, early Dec. to early March)
Playoffs are held on Late February. The finals are held end February/Early March (less 8U, no playoffs)
For those not qualifying for Travel, House Hockey is planned to be offered twice per week beginning approx. mid-August and run through late February. Prorated dues will be offered for late registrations
Where
Practices are primarily held at Kent State University Ice Arena.
Teams may practice periodically at Garfield Heights Rec Center.

After tryouts you will decide if you want to commit to the season by making a non-refundable deposit.
Deposit and Tryout cost will count towards your regular season dues.
The remaining amount of regular season dues can be paid at the time of deposit or you can pay the remaining balance in installments, split evenly, on Sept. 30th, Oct. 30th, and Nov. 30th.
